These Website Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the EMGS Recruitment Consultancy Ltd website. By using this website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the website.

These Terms apply to use of the website only. Any recruitment, attorney search, candidate representation, engagement, placement, fee, guarantee, exclusivity, confidentiality or other commercial arrangement will be governed by separate written terms where applicable.

1. About EMGS

This website is operated by EMGS Recruitment Consultancy Ltd (“EMGS”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

EMGS is a UK-founded recruitment business focused primarily on permanent legal recruitment in the United States. We support law firms with associate, counsel and partner recruitment and provide confidential representation to attorneys considering lateral moves. We also support permanent recruitment across manufacturing, engineering, operations, procurement and supply chain.

2. These are website terms only

These Terms govern access to and use of this website. They do not replace, amend or override any separate agreement between EMGS and a law firm, client, attorney, candidate, supplier or other party.

Recruitment services, attorney representation, search assignments, introductions, fees, payment terms, replacement arrangements, confidentiality obligations and other commercial matters will be governed by separately agreed terms where applicable.

Nothing on this website requires EMGS to accept an assignment, represent an individual, make an introduction or enter into a commercial relationship.

3. Website information and professional advice

The information on this website is provided for general information about EMGS, its recruitment services and relevant recruitment markets.

Website content is not legal, career, immigration, tax, financial, human-resources or other professional advice. It should not be relied upon as a substitute for advice relating to your particular circumstances.

Nothing on this website creates an attorney-client relationship, legal adviser relationship, fiduciary relationship or professional advisory relationship between EMGS and a website user.

Although we aim to keep website information accurate and current, we do not guarantee that all content will always be complete, current or free from error.

4. Recruitment information and outcomes

References on this website to law firms, clients, attorneys, candidates, opportunities, roles, practice areas, markets, compensation, hiring activity or market conditions are provided for general context only unless confirmed directly by EMGS.

Recruitment information may change without notice. We do not guarantee:

  • That an opportunity will remain available.

  • That a law firm or client will proceed with a search.

  • That an attorney or candidate will remain available or interested.

  • That an introduction will result in an interview, offer, placement, lateral move or partnership opportunity.

  • That any particular recruitment, commercial or career outcome will be achieved.

  • That compensation, working arrangements, progression or other opportunity information will remain unchanged.

Any specific information should be discussed and confirmed directly with EMGS as part of the relevant recruitment process.

5. Enquiries and recruitment relationships

Submitting an enquiry, resume, CV, professional profile, hiring requirement or other information through this website does not automatically create:

  • A recruitment contract or search assignment.

  • An attorney or candidate representation agreement.

  • A client or supplier relationship.

  • An employment, partnership or agency relationship.

  • An obligation for EMGS to act, make an introduction or provide services.

Where EMGS agrees to support a law firm, client, attorney or candidate, the nature and scope of that support will be discussed and, where appropriate, confirmed separately.

EMGS may decide not to proceed with an enquiry, search, representation request or potential introduction where there is no credible basis to do so, where a conflict or legal concern exists, or where the work falls outside the services we provide.

6. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, its systems, accounts or data.

This website may contain links to third-party websites, platforms or services, including LinkedIn, email providers, mapping services, law-firm websites, company websites, professional directories and other external resources.

These links are provided for convenience or general information. Unless expressly stated, they do not mean that EMGS endorses, controls or accepts responsibility for the third party or its content.

Third-party websites operate under their own terms, privacy notices, security arrangements and availability. You use them at your own discretion and should review their applicable terms before providing information or relying on their content.

EMGS is not responsible for changes, errors, availability, security or content on a third-party website that we do not control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful. In particular, nothing excludes or limits liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence.

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

  • Any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

The website is provided primarily for general information and business-enquiry purposes. You should not make a legal, career, financial, immigration, tax, employment or commercial decision solely in reliance on general website content.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, EMGS is not responsible for loss or damage arising solely from:

  • Reliance on general website information that has not been confirmed directly by EMGS.

  • Temporary website unavailability, interruption or technical failure.

  • The content, availability or security of a third-party website or service.

  • Changes to an opportunity, search, market condition, compensation indication or recruitment process.

  • Viruses or harmful material originating outside systems reasonably controlled by EMGS, provided that we have taken reasonable security measures.

Where you use the website for business or professional purposes, EMGS will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, anticipated savings, goodwill or data, except where liability cannot lawfully be limited.

Where you use the website as an individual consumer, nothing in these Terms affects your mandatory legal rights. We remain responsible for loss that is reasonably foreseeable and directly caused by our breach of these Terms or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable law.

Separate recruitment or commercial agreements may contain different liability provisions and will take precedence in relation to the services they govern.
